Ping! & Internet Speed-Test.

If you want to measure the speed of your internet and get a breakdown of your ping, check out these two sites. Since sometimes you will pay for a service, only to discover your internet provider isn't giving it to you.

Ping test: http://www.pingtest.net/
Gives a break down of your Ping, Jitter (when you get lag spikes), Packets lost (if you sometimes get a 'warp/teleport' effect when playing).




General internet speed test: http://www.speedtest.net/




It's also really useful to check out the two above sites if you get problems like the ones I'm currently having (thanks to my service provider). Of course everyone gets huge ping spikes from time to time, but i bet you can't beat mine (look at our server), this is ridiculous:

They rated my line quality B*, MOS: 4.32.

I recieved an F, the worst, but that will be fixed in a few days hopefully.

The worst thing to have in a ping test is 'Packet Loss' and I still have 36% packet loss (which makes most commands unresponsive). Make sure yours are at 0%

If someone doesn't know 36% packet loss doesn't mean the same thing as 36% of information lost. It of course can mean it if the protocol used is something like UDP which doesn't resend lost information.

Illuminati, you should really consider changing service provider . Unless you're bound to it, like we were for a while. Horrible times, horrible ISP :/
