Just bought warband on steam.
Hey guys,
just wanted to let you all know: You can buy warband on steam already and get all the options: Single player, host games etc. It's still version 8.02, just with everything unlocked! So go download it!

That sounds good!
However keep in mind, that steam will get a part of the money, while TaleWorlds would get the whole worth when you buy it on their site. That's not possible at the moment, but from what I cant tell you, single-player still needs some work and you have to patch it every time they release a new patch. That means started campaigns become quite useless with a new patch, as the saves are not compatible.

I found Mount and Blade via steam, the demo. Which is why I bought it on steam.

Re: Just bought warband on steam.
My problem with steam is, that to access the game folder you need to go to:
C:/program files/steam/steamapps/common/x..M&B
If you need to access it all the time (if you play mods etc) this can be annoying.
Also, steam always auto updates games, so if you're playing a mod, or need to access a certain server (which hasnt been updated) ...you're screwed.
**But if you downloaded from steam, I would recommend you just use the seriel key, type it in the taleworlds site (http://www.taleworlds.com/main.aspx),
and download it in to a seperate folder (like C:/games/warband). That way you'll avoid all the steam related problems.

If you want to you can just choose that you don't want steam to update the game automaticly. Then you won't get any issues like that.
Just right-click the game and then choose "Properties" --> "Updates".
I've also bought the game through Steam because I find it so easy to access the games when using an another computer with Steam.

I prefer to use steam on most games. And I am used to accessing game folders there. Also I had to manually update the latest patch.
